David Chang 張代偉
Founder & Secretary-General
David Chang is the founder & secretary-general of Crossroads and the founder & CEO of online translation platform, Wordcorp. Born and raised in the United States, David lived in Taiwan from 1995 to 1999 while enrolled for high school at Taipei American School. After graduating from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Law and Society and working in New York City, he returned to Taiwan in December 2009, where he currently lives. He holds dual U.S-Taiwan citizenship, made possible due to his parents being Taiwanese nationals.
Prior to moving back to Taiwan, David served as aide of now-former New York State Senator Thomas K. Duane and the site director for America Works of New Jersey, a job-training and -placement program for ex-offenders that became formally adopted by the state of New Jersey under his watch. With his background in public service and law, his career has been focused on bridging social, economic, and cultural divides to unite communities towards the discovery and achievement of greater pursuits.
David now provides strategic consulting for various central and local government entities on policies regarding Taiwan’s internationalization, such as the Bilingual Nation Initiative and Employment Gold Card program. As the secretary-general of Crossroads, he focuses the organization’s efforts on building meaningful avenues for understanding and opportunities between the local and international communities to spark stronger levels of political advocacy and a greater vision for Taiwan’s future.
