Ray Smithson is a corporate business communication skills trainer at organizations such as Google, Intel, HPE, Fujitsu, NTU, SmarDTV etc. Ray is also a cofounder and chief trainer at Inspire Garage, a platform designed to help Taiwanese university students get internships at top international companies across Taiwan. Originally from the United States, he has been a permanent resident in Taiwan since 2012.

Ray came to Taiwan in 2012 to establish international business connections in Asia and fell in love with the country, people and culture. Before moving to Taiwan, Ray was an area manager at CityGro, a customer retention software company based in Utah. Ray also holds a Post Graduate Certificate of International Education (PGCEi) from The University of Nottingham and a bachelor’s degree from Utah State University (USU). He was a valedictorian at USU Eastern, where he was also VP of the Business Club and qualified for nationals at the Utah Delta Epsilon Chi business competition.
